LIKE A DONKEY TO WATER is a farce about rural education in early 20th century China all triggered by a donkey

In our adaptation oof the play THE SILENT ELEPHANT (2012) by South Korean playwright Ms. Lee Mi-Kyung, the drama is based on the real story of a 2005 elephant escape from a zoo in South Korea. Through surreal black humor, it illustrates how different parties perceive the same event from their own perspectives. While the escape appears as a random incident to the zookeepers, the police, doctor, and a mother each interpret it differently. Similar to the Chinese idiom “Blind Men Touching the Elephant,“ carious factions interpret the event differently based on their positions, leading to an inability to communication effectively.

改编自韩国作家李美庆女士的《大象沉默》（2012），该剧以韩国2005年大象出逃动物园的真实事件为主题，用超现实的黑色幽默笔触，阐述了事件中不同各方如何站在各自立场、以不同视角看待同一件事件的故事。大象出逃动物园，这在饲养员看来是一起偶然事件，但是在刑警、医生和妈妈等各方的角度却得出了各不相同的解读，有如汉语成语“盲人摸象”一般，各方势力从各自的立场出发，对同一个事件有不同的阐释，最终陷入无法沟通的境地。
